I don’t know if it’s just me, but the older I get and the more babies I have, the harder it seems to find tasteful, feminine, and modest maternity wear.
Over the years, I’ve been a fan of Deborah and Co. I have several of her skirts, and they always fit and wash well.
When I learned I was pregnant, I was excited to finally try her maternity line. I’ve bought several skirts from other companies, even popular online companies with fabulous selections, but the skirts either shrank in the wash, unraveled at the seams, or simply didn’t fit.
I now own 5 skirts from Deborah and Co and they’re still worn regularly! I love the strong but feminine material, I especially like that it flows over my growing belly, so doesn’t feel tight or restrictive.
When I attended Allume this year, all of my outfits were from Deborah and Co—they all traveled well, and after a quick ironing, were ready to wear!
I like for my skirts to be ankle length, so requested a couple of extra inches and it falls just where I want. (Another perk of Deborah and Co is the ability to customize hemlines, which is especially fantastic when ones body starts changing while pregnant.)
The skirt: I’m wearing the ruffle skirt in burgundy. The material is fantastic! It’s just the right weight–not too heavy but not too light. Any crinkles fall out naturally, and I have yet to iron it.
The top: A simple black sweater that I picked up on clearance from Motherhood.
The Jewelry: Pearl necklace and bracelet from my children. My husband said they were bought from JC Penney. The brooch was a bridesmaid gift from my sister.
The shoes: Black heels. I bought them on sale from an Easy Spirit outlet.
Below are a couple of outtake pictures with my little dachshund, Oliver.
(It also demonstrates the strength of the fabric! When he jumped on me, I noticed nothing snagged and thought–Wow! This material is amazing!)

I love skirts that don’t need ironed! Your outfit is very cute. And the pics with Oliver are too!
The Mama Behind the Story says
No iron is awesome. 🙂 I saw some crinkles and started to get the iron and by the time I put it on the ironing board, they were gone. LOL I’ll take that kind of ease any day. 🙂

You look beautiful! Love the doggy. I’m trying to find a Dachshund.
The Mama Behind the Story says
Thanks, Laura!!
I love dachshunds–he was kind of a rescue. He kept ending up on our front porch from others who found him shivering in the cold. My husband said it had to be a God thing because he knows how much I love dachshunds (I had another one for 10 years, who was also kind of a rescue). I only adopt shelter dogs, so never felt right about paying high prices for specific breeds when so many pups need a family. And then one day he showed up again and after talking with the owner, he said he’d been trying to “get rid of him for awhile.” What’s really sad is that when we took him to the vet, it turned out he was only 4 to 6 weeks old.
