Happy 9th anniversary to us!
It’s so hard to believe it’s been nine years! We’ve gone through a lot and when I think about how far we’ve come not only relationship wise, but also lifestyle wise, I am absolutely amazed. When we were first married, Andrew couldn’t even work in this country. He finally found a job in Cleveland, Ohio (where we were able to get an attorney to handle the rest of our Immigration stuff). Then we moved here to Arkansas, where Andrew is doing what he loves and is running an agency.
I finally graduated from college (Yay!) and staying at home to homeschool my kids (two things I remember arguing with Andrew that I would never do. I was determined to work at least part time, but when it came down to it, we couldn’t justify the day care expenses and I just got addicted to homeschooling).
We’ve had three kids, adopting a fourth, and have adopted two dogs.
And we got another e-mail today about another contribution from Kingdom Kids. Check out the thermometer! We’re halfway there! We now have enough to pay the remainder of her fees (we’re just waiting on her release papers, which were supposed to be available before the end of 2007). Now we just pay for travel, Embassy items, extra INS fees, US Court fees, and her medical exam. They told us to over estimate so we thought $24,000 was a good number, but we’re realistically expecting it to be a bit more. We’re still waiting to hear back from at least 10 grant companies, so we could very well receive the remainder well before we travel. Our goal is to have enough grants to cover what the adoption credit doesn’t.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you who have been praying, sending reference letters, contributing, reading, voting on polls, etc. We SO praise God for you and pray for you every day as well.
We’re having lunch this afternoon with Brenda and Bethany. They’re working hard to get Baby Girl’s things expedited. I’m told that we’re waiting on an update–it sounds as though this will include an updated medical as well as other new info about her.
Our big prayer right now is not only her safety but that her case is approved by a judge *before* May.
Thanks again y’all, for everything!
