These are definitely full of carob! Carob is known as a substitute for chocolate, but really it is a very valuable food with its own abundance of good stuff. When folks begin to add more raw or living foods into their diets, it’s typical to find recipes with names as “mock _________” (fill in the blank), but the great that about eating raw, living foods, is that every bit of it offers some benefit to the person eating it.
So I’ll be sure to post some info on Carob soon.
If you dislike carob, you may want to avoid these, because they definitely have a rich carob taste.
Throw into a food processor (BTW, I’m in a race against time around here, so throwing these into the processor in a different order could be beneficial. LOL)
3/4 cup of raw carob
3/4 cup of raw tahini
1 tablespoon of raw honey (bottled locally)
1/2 cup of favorte chopped raw nuts
1/2 cup of raisins
With Extra-Virgin Olive Oil’d greased hands, roll the mixture into balls, put on a tray and freeze. After they were frozen, I transferred them to a covered storage container. Store in the freezer.
