The kids and I have been watching the Inaugural activities. We’ll learn more about American history next year but Morgan knows enough to have some appreciation for what she’s seeing.
We have a few activities and things planned today to go along with the Inauguration.

When I picked up Jared this morning, his SLP said he may very well test out of speech therapy in his upcoming evaluations. We’re excited about this but we’re also a little nervous too. I was hoping he’d cut down gradually, from 5 hours a week to 4, 3, 2, etc. He still struggles with his words but he’s definitely improving. His evals will happen next month, so we’ll see.

And it’s like Christmas all over again!!! As I’ve mentioned before I research curriculum in the Fall and order in the Spring. Next year’s books came in this morning. I try to stick with literature rich curriculum, especially when it incorporates Charlotte Mason ideals and next year we’re going to give Heart of Dakota a try. Morgan will also switch to Singapore Math, to give her some extra challenge. It’s apparent she needs something more when a traditional, accredited full year’s worth of math is nothing more to her than extra practice. I’ve already given her the placement test for Singapore and she’ll have to move back one level, but I think it’ll give her more of a challenge.
