Is this the week for homeschooling families or what?! Our family is wrapping up our main school year, and everyone is looking forward to a break! We’ll continue to do a few subjects until the end of June, when we’ll take off completely and pick back up with lighter courses in August. Our new school year begins September 8th, when I’ll have an 8th grader, 6th grader, 4th grader, 1st grader, K4er, and a toddler.
Now as for those other homeschooling goodies:
First off, the Build Your Bundle folks are offering a fabulous giveaway and a discount code! We enjoyed the materials from last year, and we’re excited to pick up more bundles this year.

A few of our favorites:
- A Breakfast Cookie Recipe
- Gluten-Free Banana Chocolate-Chip Oat Muffins
- Peanut Butter Cheesecake Balls
- Creamy Italian Chicken {Slow Cooker Recipe} (And my husband’s favorite)
And now, onto some favorite links that inspired my homeschooling days this week:
Teaching Poetry to Children by Feminine Adventures
Why spend time memorizing poetry? Partly because children’s minds are incredible. The amount of information they soak up puts us adults to shame. As a classical homeschooler, one of my goals in this early (grammar) stage is to fill their minds. Not just with facts and information, but with the good, the true, and the beautiful.** Good poems help me do that.
Thinking Kids Press Subscriber Freebies
Danika’s printables are amazing! I’m so impressed by the content she makes for her readers. If you’re looking for printables (especially free ones), visit her site and see if there’s something there that catches your eye.

Homeschool Mom’s Prayer Lifeline
Praying faithfully over your homeschool may be one of the most important things you can do – even more important than planning, choosing curriculum, or coming up with the perfect schedule. In fact, it is essential to all these areas of your homeschool!
