In the past few days, I’ve read many books I’ve wanted to get to for awhile or books I’ve wanted to re-read for some reason or another.
It’s amazing how much time I have now that we’re on Christmas break and the house is clean. I spend a usual hour each day doing laundry, dishes, and just making sure things are put back in their place. The kids have had a grand time playing with their toys. We have a serious toy over-haul every year about this time. The great thing about this is that we organize everything that’s left and the kids have a whole new appreciation for the remaining toys. And with a clean house and the kids happily playing, Mama gets to take advantage of some reading time!
In the past couple of days, I’ve read or re-read: Gate-Keepers of the Home, Me? Obey Him?, The Heart of Anger, and now wrapping up Putting on a Gentle and Quiet Spirit: A study on I Peter, as well as a few others.
Many of these books aren’t found in the mainstream and the majority are considered “out there.” But I enjoy reading the books which challenge what mainstream society deems as “normal.”
Many more are left on my list. I don’t think I’ll read them all before the baby comes, but it’s nice to be able to just sit down and read something that doesn’t involve the kid’s school stuff or my own school stuff.
