I can’t wait to post a pic of this!
Because I was feeling very, very tired earlier, I gave the kids some dinner (complete with our first batch of homemade ketchup) and then laid down for a few minutes this evening. I watched Camden fall asleep and thought I’d get back up in just two or more minutes, but then I fell asleep.
In a daze, I heard Jared say, “Oh, Mama’s asleep.”
Then I heard Morgan reply, “Shhh, don’t wake her up.”
After a few minutes, I heard a snap, snap, snap sound and wondered what on earth my three older kids had gotten into.
Still half asleep, I walked into the livingroom where I discovered The Trio sitting on the couch (they like to sit right up next to each other–it’s too cute) watching a movie and eating these gigantic carrots that looked about the size of Camden.
Fortunately my kids love carrots, cucumbers, and salads in general. It’s strange that I can make them a very good dinner and the only certainty I have is that the salad will be gobbled up. I usually get them the baby carrots or carrot chips, but these were the organic carrots I bought for juicing. And there they were, trying very hard to eat these huge carrots.
Their response to my presence?
“Hi, Mama. We got some carrots cause we were still hungry. Did we wake you up?”
So…what do my kids do when faced with the opportunity to get into some real trouble? They put on a movie and raid the fridge for giant carrots.
