When I started my blog, I didn’t understand its potential. Having family not only in different parts of the country, but also different parts of the world, the blog kept us all connected and made sense.
After having an article printed in Above Rubies magazine, I began receiving e-mails from ladies across the world that prompted me to think the blog could provide a convenient go-to site for other mamas seeking encouragement for homeschooling, parenting a child with special needs, or natural living.
And now, not only has the blog provided a wonderful sense of community for women, it’s also provided funds to charities, awareness of special needs orphans, provided payouts to tide us over between checks (we’re self-employed), and friendships with kindred spirits.
One of those kindred spirits who has been an integral encouragement as I’ve built this community is my friend Jacinda of Growing Home. And she’s updated her e-book, so that it’s an even more extraordinary resource for mom bloggers.
In her Intro, she writes:
Since the first edition of this eBook in 2012, my blog, Growing Home, has grown ten times in size and now generates a five-figure income annually. I’ve encountered many new challenges and opportunities not included in the original version and decided it was time to re-write it all.
When I first heard of Jacinda’s e-book, I was excited! Here’s a blogger whose genuine heart I admire and whose success is evident in her growth and strong community. After learning an incredible amount from her first edition, I couldn’t wait to read her updates.
As it was before, the e-book is easy to read, easy to understand, and easy to implement. She covers topics ranging across the benefits of blogging; strategies for growth; blog etiquette; importance of layout, design, and content; an example daily schedule to show how to balance your home life and blog; and a couple of pages dedicated to soul searching when deciding if one should blog or if it’s better to wait. She’s also updated it to show you how to navigate today’s social media trends.
And of course there is a chapter explaining how to reap the financial rewards of blogging.
When I read her first e-book, I was definitely a novice. I had a blog but didn’t know what to do with it and had only then decided to get serious about networking and growth. Now I’m more experienced, (although still have much to learn) and again, Jacinda’s e-book provides direction and advice, all written with sincerity and warmth.
