Ants, oh how they annoy. Spring and summer rains usually bring trails of tiny ants all over the place. If there is a crack, they will find it and before you know it, you’ll have a 6-legged army marching in front of your coffee pot. Ants can be such pests. They come in through even the tiniest of holes and they will go after even the smallest crumb. Some ants will even get into your electronics and cause other problems. So what can you do get rid of ants naturally?
3 Ways to Get Rid of Ants Naturally
Peppermint Oil
Mix peppermint essential oil with warm water and spray it all around the doors, windows, and baseboards inside your home. You can also spray around the foundation outside. Peppermint repels ants, mice, and spiders!
Diatomaceous Earth
This food-grade product scratches the exoskeleton of ants and other insects to dehydrate and kill them. They crawl through the DE and track it back to their nest where others are affected as well. Sprinkling DE wherever you see ants forming a path or nest will help prevent them from coming inside.
Sugar and Cornmeal
Mixing sugar and cornmeal is a quick way to get rid of ants. They will be attracted to the sugar and eat both it and the cornmeal. But the cornmeal is something they can’t digest. When they drink water, the cornmeal will swell and kill them.

Let me know how it goes! 🙂 You may need to let it sit for a few days, but it should work well.

we set out a trail of the mixture on Friday – today you can see all the places they’ve been eating/collecting. I’ll be ready to vacuum it up tomorrow and then we shall see!
