Here are a few pictures of the little one. Turns out it’s a very flexible little baby. Nope, that’s not it’s elbow by its face, it’s the knee!!!! It’s body is in a V shape, with its legs fully extended. Then it curled up into a tiny little ball, but not by crossing its legs into its belly, but by bending its knees down and rolling back up.
I had a feeling it was curled in a little ball because it felt different compared to the other kids. Also, I find it very painful at times and during the u/s saw why. I kept thinking it was kicking and punching my round ligaments. But nope, I sat and watched the moment that it turned its head, arched as far back as it could and stretch!!! THAT is painful–so all this time it’s actually the stretching that has been so painful and those aren’t kicks and punches I’m feeling on those round ligaments, it’s a tiny bottom pushing back against them.
As for the gender, when it wasn’t stretched out, it was in such a tight ball that the u/s tech said there’s just no way we’re going to know the gender until he or she comes out. So, that’s it. One would think the baby would be more comfortable flipping around, but nope, it likes curling up and moving around as a yoga/pilates expert. As much as the u/s tech said she couldn’t see anything, I swear I saw boy parts, but Andrew says my mind is playing tricks on me.
It adores its umbilical cord. It frequently pushed it away, tried to eat it a few times, and then would pull it back towards its face. It also yawned about 5 or 6 times–big, huge yawns. I don’t know why it’s yawning so much as I’m the one who ends up getting woken up in the middle of the night from all that stretching its doing.
Here are some of my favorite pics.
