I just noticed on my counter that I’m 30 weeks pregnant today. Where has the time gone?
We only have 10 more weeks to get ready. We’re doubling up on school each day, which is becoming tiring at times, but the kids are real troopers. They know that we’re doubling up so that in case the baby comes in November, we’ll be prepared. I’m teaching two classes in homeschool group and our last meeting is December 4th, so I’m hoping that he or she doesn’t come before.
Morgan has had a fantastic attitude. She was supposed to complete her reading lesson and then work through page 66 of her workbook this week. She decided that not only would she complete this assignment today but she was going to work ahead. As she put it, “I’m not tired, Mama. I want to keep going!” Then she told Elena, “We have to get ready for the new baby.”
Elena said, “Baby? My favorite!”
Morgan replied,”But it’s a *real* baby, Elena, not a pretend baby. It’s going to move and cry and everything. And we have to work really, really hard to get this semester done before the baby gets here!”(while she doesn’t understand what a semester actually is, she knows it has to do with a deadline of sorts and it’s cute to hear her talk about it.)
In a few weeks we’ll buy a dresser and a few other things for the baby. We’re also still planning on ways to move our bedroom furniture around to fit a crib in here. Lots of things to think about!
