Camden’s diaper bag was falling apart and I knew it was time for a new one. I wanted to get one with his name embroidered on it and when I finally found a local shop, and asked a bunch of friends for advice on thread colors, ventured on down.
I didn’t realize I would spend half an hour trying to decide on font size, accent, accent location, etc.
At first I wanted stars, then I wanted a teddy bear, perhaps a fire engine, but none of those fit Camden’s personality.
Finally I settled on the rocking horse.
But then I had to decide if the rocking horse would go in the upper corner, lower corner, top, bottom, and how big I wanted the rocking horse. Knowing nothing about embroidery, I was going crazy with all these choices. What if I made the wrong decision? Camden is gonna have this diaper bag until it breaks. I didn’t want it to look bad.
Finally I said, “lower right corner. No, wait–in the middle, below the name. Oh I don’t know.” I then went on to obsess over this for the rest of the day until I got distracted by one of my little ones.
I just picked it up from the shop and here’s the final result. It’s absolutely perfect:
