By going to Chuck E. Cheese, of course!
And afterwards, a nice dinner at Fish City Grill.
Andrew said he nearly ruined it because he was trying to make other plans around what he thought would be the plans for the evening. Donnie invited him over to watch a movie, so Andrew picked out a video and started making lots of other plans for the evening. Little did he know that a bunch of his co-workers and other folks were waiting for him at the local Chuck E Cheese.
When we had Jared’s birthday party at CEC, it was closing time and the kids and I were fairly tired. Meanwhile, the Dads hovered around the video games. I even found one of the other little girls huddled under a slide, crying, because she was so very tired and ready to go home.
As most of y’all know, Andrew doesn’t drink alcohol (he has a history with it though and can tell you all sorts of bad stories and experiences he’s had and why he doesn’t drink anymore). He said one of the things he noticed at dinner was that not a single person ordered an alcoholic drink. He felt a lot of respect from his friends, as he knew a few of his co-workers probably would’ve ordered something with their meal, if the circumstances had been different.
He said it was great–fun games, a good meal, but where was the romance? Since I was sick at home, Donnie stood in for me and held his hand for the rest of the evening.
