Morgan worked most of the day on Monday to get a jumpstart on her final week of school for the semester. It paid off!
She already completed Reading and Science, but we still had Math and Language Arts to wrap up. And as of 15 minutes ago, we are finished until January, when we start the 2nd semester. What a wonderful feeling to put away all of the books we’ve completed and I began taking a look at next semester’s work.
Yes, it’s been very time consuming doubling up–we’ve been doing two weeks of work each week, but once we figured out a way to streamline our days, things smoothed out and made me wonder if we should continue this schedule next semester. It could mean we would complete 1st grade in 9 weeks instead of 18. Hmmmmm….well, we’ll see how that goes.
And now, onto some even busier things. We can finally focus on getting ready for this baby. Andrew still has another client to meet and is swamped at the moment, but his schedule should be free by the middle of next week, and we plan to get things together as quickly as possible.
We also have a few more weeks left of homeschool group, but that isn’t nearly as time consuming as our own school stuff.
I’ll be “full term” tomorrow. Wow!
The Above Rubies conference is this weekend, but the doc said I am definitely staying here in the area. I hate I’m going to miss this year, but I intend to listen to the conferences on CD that I have right here and I may even complete one of the manuals written by Nancy. Her materials are fantastic, especially while going through all the trials of pregnancy.
Morgan is one excited little girl! We’re still going to do flash cards, math/word drills, and reading in her primer each day, but that’s all for fun and practice–gotta keep up those skills!
