I am so sorry that I haven’t been updating as well as I could. I am absolutely exhausted–currently this is my biggest issue (and I honestly can’t believe I’m saying this). Morning sickness has been more like mid-morning to night sickness and hasn’t been fun, but it’s the exhaustion which has been getting to me. My Endocrinolgist (aka My Hero and favorite doctor in the whole wide world) called last week and said my thyroid was in great need of adjustment–a good big size in adjustment indeed, so that explains a lot of the exhaustion. Also my blood pressure is high, but I blame that on having to live in a hotel room with three children while my husband was out of the country and the house was being repaired/put back together. I think that’ll make anyone’s blood pressure go up. π
Note to thyroid patients–if you have thyroid disease but don’t feel well on medication, please remember that this does affect some folks physically, mentally, and emotionally. So if you have trouble, even while on medication, I highly recommend doing whatever you can to see an Endocrinologist. I’ve learned that while they’re hard to get into seeing (especially the really good ones), they’re extremely posessive of their patients, so once you’re in, you’re in! I also recommend finding a good Naturopath, who can recommend appropriate nutritional measures to support thyroid health.
Anyway, sickness and tiredness aside, everything else is OK. I am praying that I will be over this in three more weeks. It’s my own little count down.
Andrew is back in the country and I am SO happy to have him home! I spent ten days without him and don’t know how these women (like my friend Carie) do this for such a long time while their hubbies are overseas. BTW her husband should be coming home this weekend. I am so excited for them and can’t wait to see their family together. Carie is a real sweetheart and a very good friend and I hope she and Sam get their big reunion soon. I am excited for their whole family. I know I talk about her a lot, but she’s been a temporary single mom for a year while her husband was in Iraq, homeschools her five children, and has also been apprenticing as a midwife, so is “on call” 24 hours a day. Yes I tend to feel like a total wimp compared to her….LOL.
I appreciate the e-mails and such and very sorry there have been no updates for a couple of weeks. We really are around and soon I’ll post some family stuff. π
Meanwhile….here’s an Elena Story.
She was OK with the new baby until I asked her again, “Elena are you excited about Mama having another baby?”
“Yes!” she replied and then paused, “Nooooo, Lena’s the baby,” she said while pointing to herself.
Elena has been the baby the longest, as Morgan and Jared don’t really remember ever being the baby, so Elena will have the hardest time adjusting to a new sibling, I’m sure.
And of course a BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my little sister LISA!!!!! What fun to have your birthday at the start of a weekend!! I hope it’s a good one!

Are you taking lots of Vitamin B?? I notice a big difference in my energy when I forget them.
I’m taking a Vitamin B complex, prescribed by my Naturopath (so I know it’s good π ) I see her again on Tuesday for my next “check up” so perhaps I need to take some extra?
