Our family has enjoyed our time here in Branson. Our resort has offered several activities on site including water aerobics, pilates, daily craft hours, magic workshops, wii tournaments, build-a-bear, wellness classes, cookouts, family game competitions, makeovers, and a sampler which was suprisingly great!
I was expecting the sampler to be folks who were simply trying to get their foot in the door, but these were established performers who came along to demonstrate their talents for about 5 minutes. Our favorites were the large families performing together.
Our favorite was The Hughes Brothers–their act consists of 5 brothers, 5 wives, 26 children (and counting).
Andrew also enjoyed the Duttons, which I thought was weird because he’s not a Bluegrass fan (But I sure am).
And of course Hamner Barber came! The children were SOOO excited!
And the last performance of the evening was Cassandre who does indeed have the voice of an angel! Before she went on stage, she stopped next to my chair (I was sitting with Camden and Morgan on the aisle), turned to face me, smiled, and gave Morgan a very soft, “hi.”
Morgan leaned over to me and said, “Mama! She’s so beautiful!” After her performance, she said to Morgan, “You’re beautiful, too.” The talented vocalist arrived dressed in a blue sequined gown and her long hair was styled with sparkling hair clips. What little princess wannabe wouldn’t look at her in awe?
Here are some pictures of other activities:

The children show off their Bear Creations–they had a Build a Bear workshop here at the resort. Morgan created her Giraffe, John. Jared created a tiger named Josiah, and Elena created a kitty named Cookwok. Not only did she remember this name time and time again but it ended up being a trivia question that night at the BBQ Cookout, as one of the activities members remembered her. Needless to say, the only audience member who won a prize then was a three-year-old little girl. 🙂
Morgan outside the Titanic Museum. We weren’t allowed to bring cameras inside, so this is the only shot I have. I thought it was money well spent and a great education opportunity not only to learn about Titanic but also the time period. Upon arrival, every guest receives a “Passport,” which gives information on one passenger–name, location, occupation, what class that passenger traveled in, etc. At the end of the tour, guests find their name on the big plaque to see if they perished or survived. Morgan’s passport was a woman who not only traveled first class, but survived. But my alter ego traveled 3rd class and perished.
